Infant Cleaning

Infant Dental Cleaning
Routine dental cleanings are important to maintaining good oral hygiene. Professional cleaning can help us look at the infants mouth and see if there are any areas of concern early on that can be prevented with treatment now. We can also show parents at these appointments how to properly brush and floss their infants teeth. We will start to see infants as soon as their first tooth errupts. That happends between 6 and 12 months. It is recommended your infant go in for a cleaning once every six months.

How it's done
You can expect your dental cleaning to last around 20 minutes. Typically, a dental hygienist see the infant and help the dentist evaluate the infant's teeth. The hygienist then will go over care instructions and anything else pertaining to the visit.
When at this appointment you can expect your infant to cry or not want to cooperate. Thats how all infants are they do not want to do what they are told. This appointment will not traumatize the infant it will acctually help the infant get accuanted with the dental office and see how fun it can be. Just keep in mind when you go to get your infants hair cut they usually cry and you hold them there to let the hair professionals do what they need to do. The same concept comes in here at the dental office. We make it fun so that they want to come back!!
